Why do you want it out of blockwork ? unless of course you’re a bricklayer, in which case you don’t need any advise. to buy a shed than to buy the materials and build it yourself. buy a. Building regulations do state that structures built of combustible material (i.e. a wooden shed) must be at least 2 metres from the main house. so my shed needs to be at least one metre from my next door neighbour's garden but if it's made out of wood it needs to be at least 2 metres from the main house.. Hi,i'm thinking of building a blockwork shed,it'll have to be single skin because of the limited space i have and was wondering what's the best possible way to obtain a damp free environment on the inside?thanks lloyd so shouldn't cost a lot for yours). this stops the water penetrated through and creates a lovely dry environment. i suppose.
You won't be able to build a block shed, mor any shed ofthat size be it imber or metal,on top of slabs, unless they have a solid sub base and are well bedded down.. Why blockwork? the issue of whether to build with masonry or timber frame is a hot topic in the self-build world, where a growing number of homes are built of timber frame, in contrast to mass housing, which is almost exclusively brick and block.. Depends what you need in terms of security and/or planning permission. iirc wood buildings are still classed as temporary structures (within a certain size, garage size is normally ok) and so you can probably get away without express permission..
